You bring a real-world challenge and leave with actionable solutions and deliverables, allowing you to test ideas before committing capital. What’s more, you are helping ensure Utah’s future workers are job-ready on day one.
See it in action
How it works
You bring us a project idea. We assign a team of talented students to tackle it under the guidance of an expert instructor. You act as the client; they deliver the results. You get a completed project off your to-do list, and they gain real-world experience for their resumes.
What we ask of you, start to finish in six easy steps
- 1
Tell us about the project
Fill out a short intake form: who you are, what you need, and what a good outcome looks like. Be specific about the result you want.
- 2
Meet the team
A kickoff meeting with the instructor, our business development specialist, and the students. You'll set the timeline, the deliverables, and how everyone communicates.
- 3
Sign off on the plan
We write up a scope of work from that meeting. You review it, ask for changes, and approve it before anyone starts. This is also where you explain how the work really gets done in your field.
- 4
Stay reachable while they work
Reply to students within three days. Join the occasional check-in, look at a draft or a prototype, and say what needs to change. Short, direct feedback is worth more than long feedback.
- 5
Come to the final presentation
The team presents the finished work to you. Provide real feedback, delivered professionally; tell them what was strong and what may have fallen short of industry standard or expectation. Then fill out a brief evaluation so we can improve the next one.
- 6
Close it out
Congratulate the team on the positive aspects of the work performed. A short testimonial or LinkedIn post carries real weight for a student applying for their first job. And tell us whether you'd like to do the next project, take on an intern, or refer another business.
